Leopold Gate is one of the entrances into Bratislava Castle and as such it's richly decorated on the roof. There are four sculptures of Greco-Roman armour surrounded by mortar style cannons and cannonballs. Not a must-see on its own, but worth taking a look if visiting Bratislava Castle.
During the Renaissance and early Baroque eras, Bratislava Castle was further developed with a regular quadrilateral ground plan around the main courtyard. Leopold’s Gate was added in 1674. Leopold’s Courtyard, inside the Sigismund Gate and below the Court of Honor, is the Leopold Yard with bastions, constructed in the 17th century.

Porta d'accesso d'onore al Castello di Bratislava e al suo complesso storico e museale. Salendo sulla collina su cui è sito, partendo dal centro storico della cittadina, ci si inerpica lungo una piacevole passeggiata con vista privilegiata sul Danubio e si giunge proprio dinanzi a questa cancellata. L'ingresso è affiancato da grandi sculture bianche che incorniciano magnificamente la splendida e lineare sagoma del Castello, divenendo, insomma, il modo migliore per accedere a questo sito storico. @gargio76
