A very nice small zoo. Play areas for kids, lots of different animals, coffee shops and souvenir shops. Both kids and adults can enjoy themselves here. It's about a 20 minute walk from the town square. It's really cheap to get in (2.5 per adult).

I think it's a great place for family fun. Very good for kids loads to enjoy. Not much to expect in place like that just amazing :)
Not very animal friendly. Small enclosures and skinny ill looking animals, both times I went. The only well fed animal I've seen was an overweight meerkat. Appalling conditions throughout, I don't think this zoo should be allowed to exist!
Surprisingly really nice ZOO. Got orangutan, tigers, lion, crocodile, lamas, camel, and others.

Excellent for kids. Lots of space to play or observe animals.
I would say 3.5 stars. The zoo exceeded my expectations, but I admittedly had pretty low expectations. There were some impressive animals there (brown bear, North American, Puma, Orangutan) but also a lot more commons ones... donkey, goat, another bigger donkey. Also, the enclosures were definitely not big enough for some of the animals. I just felt sorry for the big cats and the orangutan just looked bored and lonely. Kids ended up loving the playground a lot more than the animals. Despite the crazy parking lot and small sad cages, for that price I would come here again if I find myself in Spisska Nova Ves.
