Really nice old-school cinema where they play not only blockbuster movies, but also the ones which are not so mainstream. The seating is comfortable and the quality of projection is same or better than you find in other cinemas in Bratislava. Also, they don’t switch the light on until the end of credits which is a good way to appreciate people working on the movie and most of the people actually stay in the screening room until the end. You won’t get distracted by people chewing / drinking / making noise with packaging because food and beverages are forbidden during the movies. Downside for me was that there is a free seating (you don’t have seat number on the ticket), so you need to come well ahead a screening time to get a good seat. Also, they don’t open doors until up to 10 minutes before the movie starts so there is a long queue.

I love arthouse cinemas, and this was one of the best I've visited. I saw 'In Fabric' - a very weird British production - and 'Ad Astra' - also weird, but for different reasons. But the main thing was that the seats were comfortable, the screens certainly large enough for the showing, the sound was great, and the ticket prices were perfectly reasonable.

Great modern cinema with focus on art films. Also shows some art-ish blockbusters. No trailers, ads, popcorn or other distractions.

Movie club with a long history, changed owners/name 9 years ago, but didn't lose it's charm and has always a.good selection of old and new movies to see. If you are a member it's like 3times cheaper than your usual multiplex.

Definitely the best cinema in Bratislava with a good mix of blockbusters, art house favourites, retro flicks and cinema culture from around the world. And well worth getting a membership card!

no comercials, no trailers, no popcorn. just movie with perfect quality and sound system and for a very fair price. I watched \1917\ with original sound and slovak subtitles.

This is an old, small cinema, not a multiplex. You won't get popcorn here but you'll feel unique old atmosphere. There is a bar in the lobby, but we weren't waiting there. There is no seating order in Lumière, so if you want to grab good places you have to arrive sooner. There are four rooms, ours was \K2\ and it's small, like 15x15 seats. The sound was good, screen projection is digital so the picture quality was great. Seats were ok, though it wouldn't be comfortable for longer movies. Overall I'd say it's cosy cinema with good atmosphere for art&club movies they usually show.

This could be a great cinema. I love that they mostly play art films and European films that are not played elsewhere. But - when you buy tickets, you don't have assigned seats, which results in everyone fighting for the sitting place. Already before they open the screening room there is a giant queue. Before the film is screened a guy comes to speak about it and he literally took 20 minutes to tell you the whole story before you see it. Then he recited verbatim the description of the movie that was in the programme. Also, pray that you don't need to use the restrooms during the movie, because the screening room we were in is pitch black, there aren't even any emergency lights, but there are quite tricky stairs and I actually heard 1 person tumble down the stairs when they tried to leave.
