Stefan Stoev

Marek Čulen (March 8, 1887 Brodské - December 26, 1957 Brodské) was a communist politician and functionary. In 1939 the Gestapo took him to Hodonín, later he was imprisoned in Ilava. Before the threat of a new arrest, he emigrated to the USSR, where he appeared in the Slovak broadcast of Moscow Radio. He rushed to fight fascism and urged soldiers to sabotage. In 1944 he arrived in the rebel territory (together with J. Šverm and R. Slánsky), where he was co-opted as a member of the SNR. Honors: Series SNP I. tr., Council of Great Patriotic War, Cs. War Cross 1939, Council of February 25, 1948, Order of the Red Star, Council of the Republic.
