SAIA, n. o. is a non-governmental non-profit organisation implementing programmes and providing services aimed at enhancement of civil society, and assisting in internationalisation of education and research in Slovakia since 1990. Currently SAIA runs offices in five university towns (Bratislava, Banská Bystrica, Košice, Nitra and Žilina) with 19 employees. In 2016, the overall budget for scholarships and projects in all programmes totalled over €2.1 million, including operational and other programme costs. Through its programmes SAIA provides information and advisory services, publishes information at its five web portals, in its monthly SAIA Bulletin and in publications, at seminars, exhibitions, and fairs in Slovakia and abroad.
