Probably the most beautiful memorial that I've ever seen about WWII...

Very nice memorial. Worth a visit. Great view over the city and of the castle. At the moment there are construction workers working around the obelisk so we could‘nt see it in all its beauty. Very recommendable!
Currently under reconstruction but accessible, Slavín is an interesting WW2 memorial and one of the places with greatest view over Bratislava.
Slavín is a memorial monument and military cemetery containing the common burial ground of thousands of Soviet Army soldiers who died in the liberation of Bratislava. The central monument has a 42 metre high obelisk topped with a statue of a Soviet soldier. A monument is a fine tribute.
Beautifull view of Bratislava, especially in the evening.
You have a really nice view of the city from here
One of the biggest monuments dedicated to Communism that I've ever seen. Yet it's tough to wrap my head around the very existence of this thing since the Soviet army could hardly be called a \liberation army\ in 2020!! Of course, some Soviets did die in that war but the ultimate purpose was not any liberation but outright occupation by the Soviet Union. To someone from Eastern Europe this whole thing feels like a joke Views over Bratislava are not that interesting, it's not worth the walk if you only go for the views
Great example of communist architecture celebrating war heroes. Good hangout just before sunset, with couples enjoying a romantic moment and friends sharing beers. Current undergoing renovation. Great views (mainly to the east, you wont see much of the sunset)
