Beautiful castle with amazing views. There is a small parking fee (3 euro) but guy who is working there have a gun... I saw him running and screaming with gun in the hand, which was very weird. Anyway, the place is very nice.

A beautiful castle ruin with an amazing view over the nearby towns and villages. There are a number of expositions and signs around that tell about castle life and the history, and plenty of reminders of the castle's bloody legends. There's a 10-15 minute walk uphill from the last parking lot to the castle, so come with walking shoes on!

Supposedly haunted by the Blood Countess Elizabeth Bathory. Hauntingly beautiful, but not haunted.

Loved the castle ruins. It was so very accessible and open for the kids to run around. The entry fee and concessions were incredibly cheap. There is about a fifteen minute walk all up hill to the castle from the parking lot. It's all paved or well graded dirt road and the whole place is fairly accessible to people with mobility issues (wheel chairs need to be motorized or have some strong using them). Wish that they had more about Countess Bathory as her story is the main draw (at least for non local tourists). Really there was nothing about her though other than a line or two in the handout at the ticket booth.
