Vladimir Balaz

An excellent mountain resort for cross-country skiing in particular. Famous competition “white track” has been taking place over 50 years. Recently, ferrate trail became major attraction in summer. The central part of the resorts has many hotels and huts, bike rents and ferrate-set rents. Nature lovers appreciate quiet and deep forests – much less crowded than in High Tatras.

It’s a great place. You start much below and it’s kind of hot but as you go up in stages it starts getting colder. The passage to the highest point is very nicely designed and is a great experience in itself. There are a couple of good restaurants at the top and it is just a super experience to have a couple of drinks sitting there and enjoying the scenic beauty. Don’t forget to have desserts there, they are too good. Also, make sure you carry warm clothes!

Best place to cross-country skiing in Slovakia, various of trails, from easy to hard. Accommodation and restaurants are here just few meters from Skalka Arena, also wellness for regeneration after long day is here.
