The central transport hub in the High Tatras. Many services to Poprad, Štrba, Starý Smokovec and Tatranská Lomnica. Bus station and large parking places are located next to the railway station. The Štrbské pleso tarn is 5 min walk away. The station building was refurbished in 1960s and needs reconstruction. Otherwise, the station os well-organised and has all facilities (toilet, fast-food, cash counters, souvenir shops). There are many hotels, restaurants and cafés close to the station.

The ticket machine doesn't allow to purchase tickets for tomorrow, only for the next 10 hours (as I remember). So we have to buy at the ticket desk that works till 18:00.
This was the first year when Slovak Rail could manage to guarantee the connection from one train to other.
Staff at the ticket office was rude and not helpful at all when trying to buy just a regular ticket.
